In addition to being responsible for developing and utilizing the entrusted waqf assets, Waqaf An-Nur also plays an active role in reinforcing the ummah development agenda. In line with this aspiration, Waqaf An-Nur has elevated Education as a new core, alongside the existing cores of Spirituality and Religion, Health, Socioeconomics, as well as Community and Welfare.
The education sector has always been our priority in the distribution of waqf benefits that we manage. More than RM3.3 million has been allocated from 2020 to 2025 to the education sector, involving expenses for infrastructure, tuition fee assistance, living assistance, and the provision of learning aid equipment.
In conjunction with the Al-Quran Graduation Ceremony, Waqaf An-Nur has contributed a total of RM51,700 to 15 schools in the State of Johor for various uses, in accordance with the requests of the schools.
27 April - In conjunction with the "JCorp Group Sustainability & Yayasan JCorp Open Day 2026" program, Waqaf An-Nur introduced the Larkin Sentral Compost Fertilizer made from food waste.
This green initiative is part of the "Green & Smart Terminal Larkin Sentral" program, which aims to reduce food waste and preserve environmental sustainability.
Produced from selected food waste such as fish, vegetables and meat from the Larkin Sentral wet market, it is turned into natural fertilizer for ornamental plants, vegetables and herbs. It is free from harmful chemicals and safe for the soil and plants. It only needs to be sprinkled at the base of the plant every 2 weeks for more optimal results.
Waqaf An-Nur hopes this initiative can foster public awareness of environmental care as well as encourage recycling practices in daily life
